A note from Melody Trent, owner of Seasoned Living and Professional Organizer

Years ago, if someone would have suggested to me that I was going to be a professional organizer, I would have asked, "What's that?" Nevertheless, I probably would have felt comfortable with the idea, as it has been a natural progression for me and what I have come to love.

Have I always been organized? Perhaps not. Although, I do remember how I loved re-arranging the furniture in my bedroom and sometimes in our home. I also remember letting my bedroom get out of control and then I would catch an organizing bug and spend all day getting it in order. As I grew up, I loved making lists, having a calendar and knowing exactly what needed to be done and in what order. More importantly, I loved when ordinary things were special. My mom always made a way for the ordinary to be extra-ordinary, even when things were very chaotic. These experiences inspired me to pay attention to the detail, and enjoy using all the creativity I could to make those times and places extra-ordinary!

We moved many times as a family growing up, living in many different cities and environments. This was great for me because I was able to enjoy recreating my room and belongings over and over again. I loved everything having its perfect place! (At least to me it was a perfect place). Life did get crazy at times, so I cherished the peaceful refuge of "my space".

Today, I am the proud mother of four grown children and a new son-in-law, who makes it five. Life has not gotten any calmer as they have grown into adults! Our children were all born in 4 1/2 years, which made for a greater need of organization. They have taught me well!

My husband and my children are the most important things in my life. I learned a long time ago that what I most treasured in life is not things but people. It is not the quantity of things, but the quality of the relationships we share that are the most valuable. Therefore, I want to be able to create a home that is a place of security, warmth, contentment and affection; a place where even the everyday things in our lives are held sacred. Such things should be cared for and treated in a special and orderly way. That does not mean a perfect home, but a home that reflects our core values.

I could give you a resumé of where I have worked and what I have accomplished, but I want you to know that what really matters to me is the beauty and grace of our homes. It is the place that sustains our daily life - enabling us to go with strength and courage to do the things necessary to enhance our lives. This is reflected in everything I set out to do. As you read my website, and maybe look for solutions for your situation, know this - your home, your workplace, your lifestyle and even your events should be a reflection of your values. They should be what you and your family enjoy the most and everything you desire them to be. I would love to help you get there! Not to worry, we can do this together! I am all about creating atmosphere and establishing order.

Thanks for taking the time to read my website and learn about Seasoned Living.

God bless you and yours!
